Overview
The 3rd arrondissement
is the northern part of the Marais, Paris' historic center. It border
on the 4th (southern part of Marais), the 11th (Bastille/Oberkampf), and
the 2nd (the Sentier). The 3rd is most noted for the presence of
the Jewish district, the Place des Vosges, and lots of small boutiques
where you can still find good bargains on all different things. It
is a historically rich area with beautiful architecture and lots of small
museums. The 3rd is very central, and yet remains a strong residential
neighborhood, slightly off the main tourist trail. There are a number
of trendy (sometimes pricey) good restaurants in this area.
