Overview

The fourth arrondissement is a very central neighborhood, bordering on the Seine, the 11th (Bastille), the 3rd (northern Marais), the 1st (Les Halles) and including the Ile St. Louis and Ile de la Cite.  It is a very historic, beautiful neighborhood that allows for excellent walks along the Seine, great shopping with a variety of different stores for all tastes, and a large selection of restaurants for all types of eaters.  The 4th includes the Place des Vosges (beautiful historic Square), the Rue de Rivoli (shopping, shopping and shopping), the Hotel de Ville (City Hall) and the Rue des Rosiers (the Jewish quarter).
