Overview

The 14th arrondissement is the southern portion of the left bank, bordering on the 5th, 6th, 13th, and 15th arrondissements.  It is a largely residential neighborhood but it includes the lively shopping areas of Denfert Rochereau and Montparnasse, with a number of movie theaters, cafes and restaurants.  It is next to the Luxembourg Gardens and has a number of pretty areas for walks.  There is a great open market located on the Rue Daguerre, near Denfert.  In the southern most part of the 14th, there is the lovely Parc Montsouris.
