What is happening in Paris these days?
There are lots of things going on these days in the City of Light. I have decided to share with you a number of art events going on over the next few months. Here they are:
Sponsored by the French Ministry of Culture and with the collaboration of more than 3,000 artists, the Cow Parade (or "Vach'Art", as it's called in French) is in Paris from 10 April to 16 June, with expositions planned for many of Paris' main sites: www.vach-art.fr
Henri Rousseau, known as Le Douanier Rousseau (1844 - 1910), a contemporary of the Impressionists, was a self-taught painter. This exhibition brings together around fifty paintings, some drawings, and a major collection of archive documents all focusing on this theme of urban jungles (all painted in Paris). www.rmn.fr
Portraits, still lifes, and landscapes by Cézanne and Pissarro have been brought together to show the converging viewpoints of the two painters around 1875. www.musee-orsay.fr
The Pedro Almodovar exhibition offers a number of various fetish objects - artwork, sets, sounds, film extracts, and more - fine art that is among the most stimulating in contemporary cinema. www.cinematheque.fr
The abovementioned events are all going on now. Several will continue through the summer. I hope you get the chance to participate in a few of these wonderful Paris happenings......
